This moving family film celebrates deep connection to Country and culture, echoing the strength of community, kinship, and care for the land. Wayne Blair, Aunty's son and a featured actor in the film, may be present subject to his commitments. If attending, Wayne will introduce the film and deliver the Welcome to Country.
Kangaroo is a heart-warming story about former TV presenter Chris Masterman and young Indigenous girl Charlie, who together rescue and rehabilitate orphaned joeys in the Outback. With stunning Central Australian landscapes, the film is both a family comedy and a proud celebration of First Nations culture and Country, shining a light on the powerful bond between people, animals, and heritage.
The cast includes a stellar line-up of First Australian Actors such as Lily Whiteley, Deborah Mailman, Wayne Blair, Clarence John Ryan, Rarriwuy Hick, and Ernie Dingo, along with a strong cast of renowned actors such as Ryan Corr, Rachel House and many more. This film a significant milestone for Indigenous representation on screen.
