The event not only provided participants with a memorable experience but also served a greater purpose, raising approximately $20,000 for the HBNC Youth Mentoring Program, a vital initiative supporting young people facing challenges in school.
Gratitude abounded for the dedicated organisations and individuals who made the event possible. The Rotary Sunrise Club's complimentary BBQ and volunteer road marshals ensured everyone was fueled and safe throughout the course. The Hervey Bay Surf Life Saving Club's support and hospitality added to the event's success. Special appreciation was extended to Paul and the Hervey Bay Triathlon Club Inc. for their impeccable organization, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants. Despite initial concerns about the weather, the day blossomed into a beautiful morning, further enhancing the event's atmosphere.
All team's spirited effort and dedication were commendable, showcasing their commitment to both the event's cause and its comradery. Among the highlights was the participation of the Boat Club, not only as a Gold sponsor but also as a competitor. Thanks must also go out to the many other sponsors of the event.
