About the Film
Based on the bestselling novel, "The Friend" follows the journey of Iris (Naomi Watts), a writer and teacher living a quiet New York life until it's upended in the most unexpected way: her closest friend and mentor (Bill Murray) leaves her his beloved, gigantic Great Dane, Apollo. The regal, 150-pound dog—brilliantly played by Bing in his screen debut—instantly brings chaos, from chewed-up furniture to eviction threats.
